Privacy Policy

Focuson (“we”, “the service”) is a personal planning app. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with. Questions: privacy@focuson.app.

1. Data we collect

• Account: email, display name, sign-in method (password hash, Google/Apple identifiers, passkeys).
• Your content: areas, projects, stages, tasks, subtasks, daily plans, notes and settings you create.
• AI metering: when you use AI features — your request/response text, token counts, cost and latency (for limits and quality).
• Technical: session and auth cookies, basic logs.

2. How we use data

To run the service: sign-in, storing your structure, building your daily plan, powering AI suggestions and enforcing limits. We do not sell your data and we do not use your content to train models.

3. AI & third parties (important)

When you use AI features (e.g. “propose tasks toward a goal”, quick-capture parsing, onboarding synthesis), the text you submit is sent to our AI provider OpenRouter and onward to the underlying model provider to generate a response. Do not enter sensitive information into AI fields that you would not want shared with third parties.

We use the following sub-processors:

• OpenRouter and model providers — processing AI requests.
• Resend — sending email (magic-link sign-in).
• Google / Apple — OAuth sign-in (if you use it).
• VPS hosting provider — the servers running the app and database.

4. Retention & deletion

Data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time (“Delete account” in your profile) or reset your content (“Reset & start over”). Deleting your account permanently removes your content. Database backups are retained for a limited time and then rotated out.

5. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by writing to privacy@focuson.app.

6. Security

We apply reasonable safeguards (password hashing, per-user data isolation, HTTPS). This is early access — absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

7. Children

The service is not intended for anyone under 16.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date at the top.
